Chapter 18

A lump formed in Mauria’s throat. Lilly’s words stirred passion deep within her, but her nerves fluttered.

Lilly squeezed her hand. “It feels good in here, and I want to share it with you.”

She gave a crooked smile. “Are you trying to tell me I need a bath.”

Lilly chuckled. “Maybe.”

She rolled her eyes. “Alright. You talked me into it.”

She poured more hot water into the bath. There was still room to spare, even figuring what her weight would displace. She took off her dress but stopped at her undergarments. Her finger played with the top button.

“I don’t know why I am embarrassed.”

“It’s alright,” Lilly replied.

“My body isn’t what it used to be. After two kids, things sort of went… south.”

“I will make up my own mind.”

“Fair enough.” She removed her underwear and stood naked next to the tub.

Lilly’s eyes scanned her body. “Mauria, you look wonderful. I don’t see a thing wrong with your body.”

She held her breasts. “These used to be perkier.”

Lilly shook her head. “I like larger breasts.”

She rubbed her lower stomach. “And I didn’t have these stretch marks.”

Lilly smiled. “A beautiful tribute to the life you brought into this world. ”

Her arms flopped to her side. “You’re not going to let me feel bad about my body, are you?”

“No.” Lilly splashed the water in front of her. “Come on in.”

She dipped her toe in the tub. “That’s hot!”

Lilly motioned to her. “You’ll get used to it.”

She walked in all at once, then gently lowered herself in the water. “Ah. This is great.”

The tub was big enough for the two of them. Their legs touched. “It’s a bit cramped.”

“Do you mind?” Lilly asked.

“Not at all.”

She dunked her head to rinse her hair, then soaped it.

“You have such beautiful hair.”

“Kind hair,” she corrected.

“Kind?”

“The kind found on a mule’s rear end.”

Lilly’s laugh turned into a frown. She wagged her finger. “There will be no more of that talk. Come here, let me wash your back.”

She tried to move forward, but there wasn’t room.

“Not like that,” Lilly said. She spread her legs and twirled her finger. “Turn around.”

She turned and faced away from her. A delightfully warm sponge rested on her back. “This is going to sound strange, but I haven’t had my back washed in ages.”

“Nor have I, until a few moments ago. ”

Lilly ran the sponge along her neck and shoulders. “Lean back.”

She reclined carefully. “I don’t want to hurt your wound.”

“It isn’t that sore. In fact, it’s much better today.”

“Good.” She was glad to hear that but fretted over what that meant. “I suppose you’ll be leaving soon.”

Lilly touched her shoulder. “Let’s not think about that right now. Lean back more.”

She scooted back as far as she could. “I’m not hurting you, am I?”

“I’m fine.”

Lilly rubbed her upper chest then gently ran the sponge over her breasts. Her head reclined further, resting against her shoulder. Lilly released the sponge and massaged her breasts. She admired Lilly’s beautifully smooth, glistening wet legs.

“That feels good.”

Lilly’s hands worked their way to her stomach, and kisses dotted her neck and ear.
